My IRN is the sweetest little thing there could possibly be to me. From the day i picked him up from the breeders until now he's never even tried to bite me. but I must say he won't allow anyone else to touch him. I can pet him and scratch his little head and he gives me kisses. he was like that with me at the breeders also he sat with me the whole time I was there and when I tried to put him down he climb up my arm as if to say no I don't want to go I want to stay with you. So what choice did I have I had to bring him home with me. That was a month ago and he 4 months old and he is still as sweet as he was the night I brought him home.

That is lovely to hear of IRN's who actually have a sweet nature. I have heard quite few negative stories about them........it makes a nice change to hear positives about them.

Our IRN Petey is actually my daughters bird (she is 10). He's 1 yr old now and quite cute. I have shared custody of my kids which means they r only here half the week, and altho i spend more time with Petey than she does and do everything for him, he knows he belongs to her and adores her! Which is fine, I trust my SC too more than Petey, I see the IRN as the cat of birds.... meaning they only want attention when THEY want it. watch out if u try for a pat and they dont want it!!!!!
On the other hand, he says and does some funny things, he has the cutest little voice and picks up words really quickly. He eats a lot of fruit and veg and prefers them to seed, also loves a bath, especially when the vacuum cleaner goes on!

That is a great description of ringnecks - the cat of the bird world. I might have to use that myself Similarly I have always regarded Princesses as the Irish Setter of the parrots - always happy and optimistic, slightly silly and never dwelling on past problems - Irish and English Setters have always been our dog of choice since 1972 when we bought our first Irish.

Gee I might have to say I would consider "my female ekkie" to be the bullterrier of the bird world then. PMSLOL and I have had bruises and bleeding to prove it. PMSLOL (truely I do love her even if she doesn't let me in the aviary anymore lol)
She now sits near the door and slowly sways as I contemplate how to put food in there. lol

I love how you guy's describe the IRN's and Princesses. And to me that is about right. Thank you for putting that way.

I have the most wonderful baby ring neck I've ever met he is so sweet wouldn't bite for anything . He loves attention and I find if I'm away from him for too long he gets separation anxiaty he's just want me with him all the time. I just love him but he's a true velcro bird in every sense of the word. I have to watch him he loves to chew on material so I gave him his own hand towel its like a securityblanket other wise he will chew pillows, clothes, anything he can get his little beak on he doesn't like to chew wood or things like that or even leather it has to be material silly bird anyway if it makes him happy that all that matters.

I have an Irn and he's hand tamed. he's the best little bird I've ever had as far as the biteing goes. he never bites. heĆ” as gentle as a lamb. I can do anything with him and he does get a little upset but never bites the most he does is fluff up his feathers and try to make himself look as big as possable. he's so sweet I can't understand why they have such a bad reputation. If mine is any indication of what a tame Irn is like I would have a dozen of themLOL well mabie not but the one I have is very sweet. he will go to to anybody and loves to be cuddled and pet all over.
