Hello All, I have joined this forum to ask for any helpful suggestions in trying to find our beloved Gallah "Candy". She was stolen from Wahroonga on Sydney's North shore on Friday the 15th October from her cage in our rear yard. Her neighbour, our short-billed corella was left as was the African ringneck.
She has an ID band on her leg. We are putting up flyers in the neighbourhood and ringing all the vets in the area. What else can we do?
If any one is local and knows anything, or hears of a found Gallah, please call Michael on 0425 819 096 anytime. Thanks folks. ;D I would like to thank you all for your kind thoughts and words....CANDY HAS COME HOME! I thought I could hear her call, but thought I must be imagining it....spent an hour out in the back yard trying to see if I could find her and my husband thought I was crazy! I went inside and Michael stayed out unconvinced, but then called out saying her thought he could see her in the highest btanches of this massive gum.
Then she took off with two currawongs chasing her; I called out so loud and she wheeled back around in a loop and landed in a smaller tree in the backyard. She promptly went to sleep! She is not used to flying and has spent 2 nights away from home being chased and has several missing feathers. It took 2 hours and my husband perched on top of our 6 foot fence trying to encourage her down from the tree, but she eventually came down and is safe! Can't describe how happy we are and would like you all to know how much we appreciate your help and understanding. regards, Amynta
I have lost two of my birds in the last few months and am still trying to get them back........they were not stolen though .... I accidently let them out of their aviaries.
I have put flyers up in ALL the pet shops and the local vet and the local IGA and corner store and petrol station and have laminated about 12 or more and put them on light posts and up at the local school and on my front gate and along the local bike way and have now done 3 letter box drops of every house in my local area........I have had sightings and yesterday someone emailed me to suggested she may have heard one of my guys ....... and narrowed it down to within a few houses........so I am still hopefull after all this time.......but only slightly hopeful.
Good luck ...... oh and I have put an ad in the local paper and have put another ad in the local mini trader (so far that one is for 4 weeks and will probably do another front cover feature on their next edition)
So just keep on advertising........let EVERYONE know YOU own the galah and hopefully someone somewhere will be able to give you some information you need.

Hi there,
We were looking after our parents Corella (2yrs old - hand reared - clipped wings but mostly grown back) while they are away overseas for a few weeks. He unlatched his food door and escaped last Saturday 9th April in Caringbah (Sydney - Sutherland Shire)
If anyone hears anything about a found tame Corella could you please contact me through the above add? We don't know how we are going to tell my parents as they treat him like their children. He talks and whistles alot. We all miss him greatly.

Hi guys,
We need all the help we can get so I'll thank you in advance for keeping an eye out for our little baby boy.
Male Alexandrine lost on Monday, April 18 around the Fred Hollows (Glebe Gully) Reserve in Randwick, NSW. His name is Chewy and is about 1 ½ years old, light and dark green and just developed the black ring around his neck. He has been hand raised and therefore not very streetwise. Talks and whistles and will step onto your hand when asked to “Step Up” We (including 10yo boy) are devastated and offering a reward for his safe return. Please leave a message here if you have seen him or know where he is, thank you.

Thank you Flossy for the kind words.
He is an Alexandrine, (I've just edited my initial post - thanks for that) and yes, we have put ads in Randwick, Maroubra, Coogee, Clovelly, at local pet shops, Called WIRES and RSPCA, to no avail ... yet.

If this helps anyone: I just sighted an Australian Ringneck Parrot at Sydney Airport today (18/6/11). It must have been some sort of escapee as it was one of the black-headed races (Twenty-Eight or Port Lincoln parrot).
Hi, my pink & grey Galah escaped on Thursday 16/06/2011, he flew from Bellbird towards Cessnock, NSW 2325. He is a much loved pet, dearly missed. I am offering a reward for his return.
