They are so tiny! That would have been tricky. Never seen finch babies until now, funny little critters.

Yeahm, there is just something too cute about them. I can never see too many wet bird pics. But those sun babies are just too cute. I want one!

Been a while since I added any new photos - I had a busy week last week followed by a bad cold, now thankfully almost cleared. SO, photos can resume! This is a bit of a change - a wild Rainbow enjoying some WA Eucalypt flowers in the park behind our garden. Should be a popular one with all the new members who have recently joined with pet Rainbows - welcome to one and all! cheers, Mike

Glad to hear you are feeling better Mike. I was beginning to wonder if you had run out of photos and then I thought, nah, I'm sure Mike would have thousands more. This one absolutely captures the moment - I love it!

I have been very remiss in not putting any photos on here for quite a while, so I will start to make amends with a photo of two cute Kakarikis, a species that probably doesn't get as much attention as a pet bird as it deserves. cheers, Mike

I adore kakarikis too. They are awesome little birds. We had a pair before we moved here some years ago.......they were fantastic parents - but sadly the hen died one summer and he was just heart broken - was never the same birdie. We gave him to a retired gentleman we knew who had rescued lots of birds and had lots of communal aviaries.....he did really well there until his passing.........Not many ppl give them the recognition they deserve.......Nice pic again Mike

It has been a while since I put any photos on this thread - over 18 months to be exact. However I've still got lots of photos to go so it is time to restart the thread with some new ones. The first two photos date from 1995, when we hand raised 4 Long-biled Corellas and 3 Short-billed Corellas at the same time! Now that was an interesting exercise They were responsible for our floor in the family room being converted form carpet to tiles - they realized their long beak had evolved for digging and in the absence of soil decided our carpet would be an acceptable alternative - and quickly wrecked it! The first photo shows the 4 at home around the time they were weaned, while the second is just after they had gone into the shop to be sold. cheers, Mike

Great photos Mike, they look like a happy bunch even if they wrecked your carpet.
