I dont know why but my peeps has a fetish for my nose. I dont know if she thinks shes cleaning my beak. or a bid for attention. she also scrapes my teeth. its very annoying and makes me feel ill. now let it be known that this is one spoilt lori. no matter where i go she goes. if i go to visit my parents for even a day you better belive shes in her travel cage right along with me. now she gets nippy during play time, but i allow this as i think its part of her play. she doesnt normally nip any other time. she spends pretty much twenty four seven with me, and usally out of the cage. she screams when shes in the cage and can see me, i assciote this with her wanting to be with 'the flock' even if shes right next to me in teh cage she has to be on me/near me/out. But im not exactly sure how to stop this nose picking and mouth picking it makes me feel sick, and im fairly certain its not cause shes hungry she always has a full bowl of paswells and various fruits and of course her water...ah what to do with a spoilt lori.. I attached a charming photo of peeps at my nose >.< she even goes as far now as to put her beak on either side and push it up like a pigs snout...or she keeps it together and jams it up... Rainbows all seem to think that one of their purposes in life is to be a tooth pick for their owners And noses also seem to fascinate them. The other area they often like to investigate is your ear canal - nothing like a brush tongue reaching down into the deepest recesses of your ear Obviously a well loved young bird! cheers, Mike

My quaker, Sunny goes for my nose often. I just gently pull my head to the opposite sid and say no. As for my mouth....no way! lips stay firmly closed. ear nibbling is ok, as long as its nibbling only, Sunny sometimes chomps.
I can't give you any advice except saying NO! Maybe you could distract with a toy?

My Lori was trying to get into my mouth and i stopped him straight away with a NO!! It took a few times, but now he knows and when he tries to go for a peek in my mouth i turn my head and just say no and he then just rests his beak on my lips without being pushy and i give him lots & lots of praise etc.....
I read that you need to ignore them when they behave badly like screaming when you are be not getting her out.
Good Luck...Jassy.... ;D
