Hi folks . a few days ago I noticed Mr and Mrs Musk Lorikeet scratching around in the nest box , I wasnt sure if they were setting up a nest or a roosting spot . Well today Mrs Musk is scratching around in there and making those girly noises hens make and Mr Musk has been taking crae of her nutritional needs by feeding her .
To the point YAY I think we gonna have babies , so my concern now is am I doing all I can for her .
She has her dry food , wet food , grapes/apples etc and corn /broccoli/peas and she also likes the bird bread I make .
Calcium and D3 once a week in the water and Apple Cider Vinegar once or twice a week in the drinking water .
Any thing else do you think ?
Thanks .

Any thing else do you think ? Thanks . No - you have all bases covered by the sounds of it - the only point is the quality of the lori powders - some are better than others, and I was never a fan of Sheps. Perhaps give nectar bearing flowers such a Grevillea, Bottle-brush and wattle as often as possible - nothing like natural food! cheers, Mike

How exciting...woohoo....hope it all goes well for you. Why do you give them apple cider vinegar? I'm intrigued??
Also.....as I'm always looking for new things.....do you want to share your birdy bread recipe?
Goodluck!!

Wow, thanks for that jusdeb....I have now learnt something new today!.....Sounds like an amazing natural remedy for many things!! Looking forward to the recipe too!! and I also use Passwells lorrie food most of the time, but just got a bag of the Golden Rice Lorrie food from Vetafarm.....they seem to love that too...? Any feedback on that one? I don't know if I am imagining this, but the poops don't seem as bad? ? Perhaps that's just wishful thinking....lol
