I'm sure kensei, and most other lost birds, are safe and being cared for. Not that that makes up for their loss, but perhaps gives some comfort. I feel so sad for all of you who have lost birds. Butch was not escaped for long and I knew where he was the whole time. The sheer dread I experienced during that time, when he was up in that 25ft gum tree well out of reach, well that gave me a small taste of what you guys must be feeling. I was lucky and I wish you luck too. If not with these lost babies, but with your next fid.

hi all - i know this has been over a year on since kinsei left us and since that day i have always been keeping my eye out for him. it turns out he did find a home and he was up for sale 2 days ago less than a km where i'm located. as i was looking at the advertisement what caught my eye was his beak. the bottom half of kinsei's beak had always stayed orange with a hint of black in a couple of places. my heart was jumping i just knew it was him and to make sure i compared both photos and it matched up perfectly. his price was too good to be true for a super tame eckie with cage etc and of course he was gone that night. i did call the seller and there were a couple of things that he said which made no sense at all. i guess what i'm trying to say is for those who are unfortunate to have lost their feathered family members to never give up hope, you never know if they are around the corner and always keep your eye out.

Hi Kinsei
What a shame that you missed out on buying him back. He was so close to where you live for all that time. I guess the seller didn't want to admit that he had caught him and probably saw your signs. At least he didn't spend the whole time flying around like my Superb Parrot did. I guess you can take small comfort that he is in a safe environment with his new owner. You must be bitterly disappointed though. Good luck.
