:can anyone tell me hoe to to sex a love bird & where can i get a dna testing kit from i have a 7 week old handraised blue love bird that has been given to me for my birthday but i want to know if it is a hen or a cock bird. also can love birds learn to talk  |

Sexing lovebirds isn't easy visually - especially when young - so DNA sexing is the way to go. There are several companies that do this - MDS is one that has a good reputation - www.mdsaustralia.net/pages/18304If you are in WA then Curtin University offer a good service as well - don't have a web site for them but call 08 9266 7475. cheers, Mike |

Hi I am in brisbane but I didnt want to go to a vet as they charge to much Contact MDS with the link I provided and get a test kit. You collect the blood sample yourself and post it off - you don't need to visit a vet. cheers, Mike |
