I have had enough of the rain we have had 200mm in the last 24 hours. It's eased off for the moment but more is forcast, it's caused from the low in the Gulf. They are saying it could develope into a cyclone sometime tomorrow. Not a real worry to us but will get a heap more rain I guess.
Even my parrots are wearing floaties.LOL.

We are getting pretty sick of the rain here as well. Can't beat your total Robyn, but we have had about 150 mm in the last week. That is on top of nearly 900mm since the start of the year - the ground is very soggy!
cheers,
Mike

Another 180mm in the last 24 hours. We have had approx 400mm in the last few days. Bruce Highway cut again. You got to love this ducks weather. Don't mind the temps staying down a bit, it's 28 today. The only thing i really hate with all the wet weather is the horrible chooky smell of the parrots. Poor things.
I don't mind as long as the Cyclones stay away.

Robyn, how on earth do you get anything dry? Guess the drier is getting plenty of use.

Tracey, I have a Mac running Safari as the internet browser and therefore am finding it very difficult to upload a couple of photos of my feathered friends. Hi Gerard Can you open a free photobucket or imagshack account? They make picture posting really easy. I use www.photobucket.com to host any photos I want to put here on the Forum. Once you have uploaded photos to photobucket you can then copy the IMG link for your photo and paste it into your message. I like how the photo then appears in your message, exactly where you want it to appear within the text, There are other photo hosting sites that do the same job, eg ImageShack - imageshack.us/

I'm sick of rain and sad that summer is over and Sydney didn't really even have a real summer. Lucky, we can't compete with the amount of rain some of you have had to cope with.
I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain this coming Saturday (24 March). It's my daughter's wedding day and it's an outdoor ceremony.

TWR, my partner suffered a case of identity fraud recently and it took an incredible amount of time, effort, thought and energy to get it sorted out. Ever since we have been extremely cautious about opening any more online accounts unless absolutely necessary. The amount of crap we had to go through to get it sorted I wouldn't wish on anyone. We haven't had much of a summer down here in Melbourne either. Wet, warm & humid. Not in the same league as Robyn though. She must be hanging out for winter up there. Cheers, Gerard.

Identity fraud is a real worry you can't be too careful. Keeping fingers crossed for the 24th and praying for a sunny day. Today is sunny so far.
Robyn, I can remember back when I was 20??? (no comments now) staying with a friend in Aumuller Street. It was March and overnight they had 13 inches of rain. The next morning we waded into Cairns with the water up to our thighs. That was the most rain I have ever seen.

Hello Everyone. Wonderful pics. I have never seen clouds quite like that! I live in NE USA in a narrow valley with mountains on each side. We are having a very warm March 70 degrees. Our soil is rocks. Thats what PA grows rocks! When you go to plant you could pull 100 rocks and then next season you could pull 100 more! Lots of hills also. The majority of houses were built back when they didn't have backhoes to dig out the ground so most places have lots of steps! I guess it keeps your heart healthy? Regards Montana

I have had enough of the rain we have had 200mm in the last 24 hours. Now I can beat you Robyn - we have had 335 mm today, until 9 pm, and still raining heavily. 309 mm fell from 3 pm to 9 pm. 243 mm fell in the 3 hours between 3 and 6 pm. it has been caused by the same weather system that gave you a wet time earlier this week Robyn. Needless to say there is a lot of flash flooding, mostly minor but a few houses have got water in to them. My house is above any danger, but the garden is a swamp, and my aviaries have water standing in them. Fortunately I don't have any quail! More rain is forecast overnight but it is due to clear away in the morning. cheers, Mike

Sounds like you need a hovercraft to go down to the shops Mike. We'd be underwater for a month if we copped that sort of rain. Our storm water drains down south couldn't cope with that amount of water.

well we didn't get as much rain as you guys.......but did get the same weather system........but we were flooded in for 2 days. Stephen couldn't get to work on Thurs or Friday and Caillean couldn't get to school. He could have gone to school if he was still at Nagoorin or Ubobo but I had swapped him to Builyan last week.........so he only went 3 days last week. The force of the water on a couple of bridges and causeways was amazing.......will post pics. The creek that stopped Caillean from attending school on Friday The same creek that stopped Caillean from going to school on Thursday The creek that stopped Stephen from going to work on Friday The same creek that stopped Stephen from going to work but on Thursday (it was higher on Friday) and this creek also stopped a few kids from attending primary school at Nagoorin or Ubobo if they lived on the other side. This is a causeway in the same area Caillean goes to school.....the force of the flooded water pushed all those rocks onto the other end of the causeway. This particular causeway is quite dangerous when flooded.......a woman was lucky not to have died a few years back (I am not too sure when but I do know the woman) she was swimming in this area and sucked through the pipes and was lucky to have survived.

Oh and we got 6 inches on our block on Wed night and 3 and half inches on Thursday night.....other areas out here got over 200ml in one night and a little less the next night. Our block was like a slush hole again......nice and green now and our rain tanks are overflowing again.........love it when the tanks are full
