Hi, Nothing as heartbreaking as losing a pet. I've come close several times. But, don't give up hope. Years ago I took my Sisters cat home after she passed away. Pumpkin the cat went looking for her - her home was 400 miles away. I found him four months later - saw his picture posted in the local paper. He was going back home. Now he is content to stay with me. I guess he had some adventures out there. There is always a chance. Regards Montana

I'm so sorry Leanne. Don't give up hope. Someone else I know just had his Galah returned to him after several months. What helped was he kept up with the "Lost Bird" posters. He didn't just put them up in the beginning, but kept reissuing them every few weeks, rang vets & pet stores every few weeks and managed to get notices & info in local papers. Eventually someone saw one of the notices in a local paper (with picture) and The Professor (his lost Galah) was returned to him. I think a similar story for Laraine, a member here. After 6 months someone saw one of her lost bird notices, which she'd only put up 2 weeks before the bird was returned to her. See reply # 50 on this thread aussiebirds.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Lost&thread=10256&page=4#87094

That's correct, my Superb parrot was missing for 6 months. I don't know how many signs I put up, would have been over 100 in the 6 months. I had a 3 sightings as he was different looking to the normal wild birds in my area. I put ads in the local papers also in neighbouring areas, advertised in the Sunday Telegraph (received 1 sighting from that). Everytime I had a sighting I put signs on telegraph poles in that area. I also put ads in the Lost Pets sites on the internet. I nearly went crazy, it really did my head in. I didn't hear anything for 3 months and had just about given up when I decided to put some signs up in an area adjacent to his last sighting. Two weeks later I had a phone call from a women who had been visiting her mother in the area. They had him for 6 weeks and were very glad to find his home. He can be quite noisy with all his calling out, he talks really well. He was found at Minto which is in the opposite direction and is 25 kms from my home. The funny part is I had put signs in that area almost to their house but they didn't see them.
Hopefully all this info helps you.

:)Hi everyone, I just needed to tell someone! I am in absoulte disbelief that I am currently being stalked/harassed by a sick individual who has text me and rung me claiming to have found Koki our missing baby, I have been taunted with messages saying they have found him and then lost him. The phone call said they had him in a cage and if I want him back I need to give $1000.00. I have spoken to police who can do nothing. I have had so much support through so many people, which has been so appreciated. I never anticipated this other side! I hope that surely others have not experienced this! I would not wish it on an enemy. My heart pounded and my eyes filled with tears to think I could go and bring my baby home only to discover it appears to be some truly sick waste of space attempting to amuse themselves.

What a sick b.......d that person is, it's a pity that the police can't do something, surely they have broken some law? Good luck, don't give up getting your baby back. Have you done some of the things I suggested?

:)Hi, I have posted flyers in and around the local area. I have posted ads on Gumtree, locanto, lost and found pets. I have been to local pet shops posted flyers and the vets and I have also contacted Wildlife Australia. As each day passes I feel hope fade further. I can't beleive the upset I feel! I guess I mean the level of it. I only hope that Koki is okay and that if someone has Koki then they will love and care for him properly.
