Hello, I was just wondering if a sun conure and pineapple conure would mate and if so, is it a good idea? Thanks Regards Montana

I have never heard of a hybrid between a Sun and a Green-cheek Conure. It may be possible - while they are in different genera they are more closely related than some parrot hybrids I have heard of.
cheers,
Mike

Hi and thanks. I was just wondering. I have no intentions on mating a pair. I was thinking of getting a baby sun conure as a playmate for my pineapple. Or, maybe it should be another green cheek? Regards Montana

A sun would likely form a friendship with your Green-cheek, but my preference is always to give them a friend, or mate of the same species.
The issue with conures is often when you give them that mate you will lose some of their bonding to you.
Personally that isn't a problem for me - I enjoy seeing my birds behave as birds, and don't expect or want them to be too strongly bonded to me. Friendly yes but bonded no!
cheers,
Mike
