Sometimes when I am playing with one of my cockatiels, she will start biting. Then she will make these fast chewing motions with her beak. She's not actually chewing anything, but I am wondering what it means when she does this? Also, I notice my male will make these clicking noises whenever I am giving him attention. Curious about this also.

Your female is showing typical behaviour - mine will do that if I am not scratching them in exactly the right spot, or else they have had enough attention and just want to sit quietly. Can't say much about the clicking noise from the male - maybe a nois ehe makes when he is happy - like a cat purring cheers, Mike

Shaking out of tail feathers a sign of contentment? Yes - a relaxed bird. As is the wing and leg stretch - stands on one leg and stretches out the other leg and the opposite wing at the same time. Also the beak grinding while they sit on your shoulder is also a sign of a contented cockatiel. cheers, Mike

Had a prolonged petting session with my new male cockatiel and noticed he started making the usual clicking noises and then went into a full singing session. I guess he has found his mate in life!
