Hi I need some help please, as one of my cockatiels keeps picking out all of the sunflower seeds from the bowl, I was advised that I should buy these seeds and reduce the amount of sunflower but I am unsure which ones I should give more or less to my cockatiels. I was wondering if anyone could help me with how much to mix (perhaps percentage wise) to make a balanced diet for my cockatiels ? The seeds I have are: White French Millet Panicum Canary Jap Millet Grey Striped Sunflower Safflower Hulled Oats On top of this I feed pellets and vegetables, so I just need to sort the seed out ! Thanks !

The seeds I have are: White French Millet Panicum Canary Jap Millet Grey Striped Sunflower Safflower Hulled Oats I would suggest the following: White French Millet ............ 30% Panicum ........................... 25% Canary ............................ 20% Jap Millet ......................... 20% Grey Striped Sunflower ...... 5% Safflower ........................ nil - just another oil seed high in fat which many cockatiels don't like Hulled Oats ..................... nil generally - it is a high fat seed but can be useful in cold weather if they are outside, or if a bird is recovering from illness as about a teaspoon each day. cheers, Mike
