I noticed that when I visited the forum today it had changed, as all Proboards forums seem to be changing.
I never log out, but today I was required to log in, when I tried it wouldn't accept my details so I had to start a new membership.
I used my previous nickname and email address, and now I'm showing as having two memberships. Is it possible to delete the new membership and somehow get my previous membership back?

I was also surprised to find the new format last night - however at least my user details were still there. Not sure I like the change, but maybe that is just my old-age inspired dislike of change!
I am not a moderator so have no ability to do anything myself, but I had a look at the list of members and both your names are there. Try logging in again with your old name and password, and see if it comes up OK this time. If it does then log out and log back in with the new name you set up today. Then go to your profile, then Edit Profile, then settings, then at the bottom there is a choice to Delete Account - I assume this will let you get rid of today's account.
Unfortunately none of the Forum's moderators seem to log in any more, and the Forum owner has been absent for a long while - he was in poor health and perhaps that is why. So I am trying to get in contact with someone so I can become a moderator - at least I am still here almost every day and presumably could sort out these kinds of problems.
cheers,
Mike

G'day Mike, I'm now logged in with my original nickname. I did some investigating and found that I was logged into a Gmail account that I rarely use, and once I logged out of that I was able to log in to my original account. I've no idea why that would have had any bearing on logging in today after the change, but it did, so now I've deleted the account I created today. I did have to re-post my avatar though. All Proboard forums are going through this change, whether they want to or not, as Proboards has changed hands and the new owners wish to use this new version. Forum owners have had months to make the change voluntarily, and those who haven't are having the changes forced on them by Proboards...I'd say that's what has happened here. You can approach Proboards re becoming a forum admin, but I doubt it will do you any good as that needs to be authorised by the current forum admin. Here's a link to the Proboards Support group where you can pose that question support.proboards.com/ . You need to join that support group to post a question, but once you ask someone will definitely answer you.

Glad you sorted out the login issue, and thanks for the background on the changes to ProBoards. I will wait and see if my contact attempts with John (AussieBirds) the Forum owner, bear fruit before attempting to go through ProBoards.
cheers,
Mike

Mike, I suppose that you've tried sending him a Private Message through this forum?

Mike, if you PM them they should receive email notification that there's a PM here for them. However if they've used a email address that they rarely, or never access, then they won't know.
