I'm new to this site and wanted some fellow Aussie help on my bird choice.
i have multitudes of questions about everything from the basic rule of thumbs to your personal experiences.
i have done *#$@ loads of research trying my hardest to understand the Electus Parrots and what ill need to do for them in return for the most treasured companion bird possible.
first few questions are
what is the best cage size for them and any needs they must have in the cage?
favorite toys and how to keep them enriched?
any tips and advice on training them and keeping them happy
any advice on good diets that at least you have attempted and have been fool proof or you know work well?
what is good training treats for them?
is it really true that the gender affects who they are as a companion?
is any sub species really better than another?
any general advice, tips or even warnings about the bird?
also any good and reliable breeders that i could look at or search their site to plan when i get them in a year or so?
General price for hand raised?
good perches and branches and cage decour for them?
Any safe known native Australian plants they enjoy?
And lastly (Atleast for now) is it true that their more prone to acting aggressive to your partner?
to also give you comfort yes i have owned birds before, a cockatiel when i was very young and very recently before she passed away at age 11 a Rainbow lorikeet.
i am researching heavily on them and want everything to be 100% secure before the purchase or even layby is made on the Electus.
