Hi everyone, My brother got me a hand reared Princess Parrot for my birthday in January. I take her out of the cage lots but she hardly ever lets me touch her. She loves my attention though and she loves when I whistle to her, however sometimes, she can have random outbursts of angry. Her feathers go fluffy, she puts her head down and open her beak and lets out quite an angry sound and will go to bite me and does it for only a couple of seconds and that's it. It will be at random times when I'm not giving attention to her or when she's just sitting on my shoulder she can do it. What's wrong with her or am I doing something wrong? How do I get her to stop doing it? Thanks

Hi, I have a male Princess Parrot and he does exactly the same things. He loves attention and being around my husband and I, he will sit on our head, chatter to us, sit on our shoulders, but NEVER allow us to touch him. He also fluffs himself up occasionally and will have a go at biting us but only once did he get hold of skin on my husband but didn't break the skin. My parrot (Jack) is now about 3 years old and is slightly more tolerant of us although we think we might need to get him a wife... I don't think there is anything wrong with our parrots, they are just their own birds and like their own space. Good luck with yours!
