Hi guys, My otherwise healthy cockatoo has a little bit of red pigmentation along the lower eyelid skin. Just on the loose-ish skin, not too close to the actual eyeball. No swelling. Eyes are clear and bright, behaviour normal, poo normal. Hasn’t been scratching around the eyes from my observations. It doesn’t look like an injury per say....perhaps more like broken blood vessels? I noticed it after his first evening alone in quite a long time, so could this be stress related? It wasn’t there when I left in the morning, but was there when I got back in the late evening. Its been 3 days now, one lower eyelid appears to be clearing up, the other lower eyelid is still pigmented with red. It kind of looks like little red stripes through the skin. Im more than willing to take him to the vet, but as this is my first cockatoo I just wanted to see what your opinions are and if this is something common? He is around 2.5 years old. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
