Hello,
I'm sadly trying to find a new home for my bonded cockatiels Rex and Pearl. Rex is 3, cinnamon pied, hand-raised from 2 weeks old, VERY friendly. Loves to sit on your shoulder, head scritches, exploring his environment, whistling (particularly September by Earth, Wind and Fire), and generally just being with us whatever we're doing. Pearl is a rescue, grey, we think 18 months-2 years, was a pet but not tame when we got her. Now she will sit on our shoulder and fly around after us. Not as tame as Rex but an incredibly gentle, caring girl. We call her the faerie as she's so sweet and gentle. Wherever Rex is, she wants to be.
This is a very hard decision to make but sadly they have not been getting the attention they deserve for the past 6 months thanks to the arrival of a very rambunctious puppy (who appears to be hell bent on eating them). Lately i've been seeing glimpses of behaviour from Rex that I think is an indication of boredom and not enough attention. Banging his beak, guarding the cage, hissing. I love these little birds, but I think they might have a more fulfilling life with a new family now who can give them all the freedom, love and attention they deserve.
If you think this might be you, please reach out. I will provide their cages, toys, and a 6 months supply of food. Price is negotiable for the right family.
Located in South Gippsland, Victoria, but happy to travel.
