Thanks Tracey - was about to feed her but might hold off an hour or so and try the 3 feeds instead of 4 (I've been putting baby food in the last few feeds). Bought some seed today that I will put in her cage and while i put some veges in today she simply sat and pooped in the dish! Was considering buying her a happy hut today - will definately go out and grab one but leave the place in the box for her to hide till then.
She also likes to fly to windows and screen doors - will wait till she gets a bit more control (especially with the landing) before we go for the wing clip.
Thanks for the tips!

She will take a little bit to discover the veges, but they only like certain ones. Like my Dad says, they will turn their beaks up to start with but once they taste them, they usually like them and hoe into them. The Happy Hut is brilliant, put it in the box with her and then when you put her in the cage, put it in there too. Try to wean her out of the box and into the cage. Squeak was in her cage at about a month and a week old. Red Rumps are notorious for being shy, but I think if they are handled every day, then they become more sociable. I have Squeak out for about an hour a night and on weekends I get her out sometimes during the day - but don't like to get her used to that. Eventually yours will develop a little personality and she will do thinks like jumping at the door of the cage just to get out....... Anymore help you need, just yell out. Tracey PS....see Dad I have learnt a lot huh??? ;D

Thanks guys - terrific advice. She is sitting in her cage and I put some assorted chopped up veges in there too but not expecting her to touch them tonight. She isn't very impressed but will just perservere. Will grab a happy hut tomorrow. Bill the cockatiel doesn't like his veges at all so it is a good chance to work on both of them and get them addicted.

You are welcome. I also find that if you put the veges and sprouts in front on them in a feeding dish then they will be more likely to try and nibble at it. I usually hang it on the side of the cage near the perch, so she doesn't have to go too far for it. But don't try too many veges at once, try maybe endives, snow peas and some apple. I stick my apple in the side of the cage and she eats the apple and leaves the skin...the skin is usually on the floor when I get home cause there is nothing to hold it in the cage any more.... Anyway give it a go - let us know how you get on. Tracey

Well we are still on 4 feeds a day. I haven't quite been brave enough to cut out the last feed yet because we aren't eating anything in the cage yet. I have put in seed, snow pea sprouts and mushed veges. Am going to make up some birdie bread this afternoon so that might entice her to eat on her own. Aside from that we are flying incredibly well, getting on top of the blinds and even getting part way up the stairs

Both Bill and baby have had a good day today! Bill (the vege-hater) is eating snow peas and corn at the moment. The baby is also eating these in her cage and I think she is cracking some seed in there too (previously she would only eat it outside the cage). I feel comfortable in cutting out the last night feed tonight ;D
