Just two quick questions. 1. Can you give a Rainbow Lorikeet cuttlebone or is it bad for them like seed is? 2. Can the Rainbow Lorikeet learn to talk? I have purchased some Feathered Phonics CDS to use with my tiels and was hoping to use them with Tutti (my lorie) Chloe

To answer both you questions yes you can give then cuttlefish and seed is nit bad for them in fact it should play a minor part of their diet. And yes they can talk very well I have bone and it's vocabulary is unbelievable good luck and I'm sure you will enjoy your bird.

My Rainbows regularly have their heads in the seed bowl, even though they get wet mix, fruit, vegies and flowers. Also Rainbows visit my wild bird feeder in my yard, so they definitely can tolerate it. I haven't tried them with cuttlebone, but might try it.
