My 2 rainbows are driving me to distraction lately. Cheeky the girl is appears to be bullying Mojo the boy. She stands over him, sometimes without making any sounds while he practically lies on his back in the corner of the cage and makes the most awful squarking noise. They do this most of the day. I've tried separating them but they just call for each other. Cheeky also won't let Mojo come near us, she chases him away if he tries to come close. When they are both out of the cage she's not as bad but still pushes him away if he gets too close to me unless he gets to me first. She is also very nippy to the point where she's lunging. Is this normal lorikeet behaviour or is something else going on?

About 18 mo I think. They've been doing this since I got them but only now and then and only for a short while, not like this prolonged 'attack'. Cheeky has been dominant almost since I got them.

yes that is what I was going to say.........maybe hormones are playing havoc and maybe this might be a bit of foreplay??? Especially since when you separate them they call for each other!!
