Hi everyone,
I have been using this forum for a number of months now and have completely forgotten almost everyone else's background. Lets all fill out this brief questionnaire so that we all can have a quick glimpse of what we all do and what we all have (just copy and past into a reply):
Name: Contact # (optional): State: Website: Bird Species Kept: Primary Diet (Pellet, seed or combo): Fresh Produce Normally provided: Enclosures Utilised: Indoor or Outdoor Setup: Do you know how to incubate an egg? Do you know how to handrear a chick?
If there are any other questions which you feel should be asked, please tell me so that I can add it to the above list.
Regards Tim

Hi Tim, I am surprised to see you give your birds potatoes I was under the impression they weren't good for them. Bev Bev, I've been feeding my birds potatoes for many years. Infact, I know of breeders all around the world who feed it to their birds. Sweet potatoes is seriously one of the best thing syou can feed your birds. Guarantee it. Remember - raw nor cooked. Rgds Tim

Well Vic that's great news I now have another vegetable to add to the ever increasing list of things to cut up in the morning!! Have to buy myself a chopper. My bung wrist really gets a work out and the cold doesn't help. Bev

I make absolutely wonderful caseroles for all my birds. It's really sad when the dishes I cook for them look and taste better than what I cook for myself. I've found potatoes especially good for birds on the verge of fledging. Very high in carbohydrates and have found that they don't loose as much body mass as if they were only eating seed.
