Hi everyone, We moved to Perth 4 years ago from the UK and just to say we love your country and believe it was the best move we have ever made. In Feb this year I got 2 cockatiels from a work colleague, She breeds them just for herself and friends. I had very little knowledge of birds or how to best look after them. I used to be a volunteer in a wildlife centre so with the internet, a few books, my limited experience and my friends advice we welcomed the 2 new additions to the family. Well, they have changed our lives completely, we are absolutely smitten with them. We could not decide on names so in the end I opened the pantry door and saw a tin of Milo and a packet of Muffins so they were to be their names. I could not believe that 2 birds could have such different characters. We believe Milo is female and she is into everything and Muffin we think is male as he has developed a bright yellow face and a beautiful singing voice. They are out of the cage about 5 hours a day and all day at the weekends. They take an almost daily shower with me and wait patiently for the warm air from the hairdryer afterwards. These 2 little birds have become so important to us and I hope I will get to share my experiences with you and learn much more about the care of birds.

Jules I think chickie being from the UK will keep her calling her babies cockatiels rather than your W.A. colloquialism....the queens english and all. ROFLMAO
