I had a check in the budgie aviary this afternoon and I have six hens sitting on eggs along with 8 babies already hatched, one box had 5 eggs and all 5 hatched another hen is sitting on 5 eggs and she has hatched 1 little jellybean so far, looking at it i would be confident in saying it was only hatched last night so ill check again in a couple of days for more ;D

I still have not had any luck at all with breeding my budgies. Only one bird laying and she just throws the eggs out after a week, (then lays more). I may invest in some other female birds and see if they pair up better than the ones I've currently got.

The pair of show budgies I bought in summer have two little jellybeans. The colours will be interesting as the mum is a blue and the dad has a lot of yellow and a little blue. Its strange Squitzy that you can't breed your budgies, I can't stop mine. I also think you should invest in a couple more pairs to get things rollingl.

you mean the name??? Yes it the first three initials of my first 3 born children. Vance, Kara and Rhianna. ;D

I tried to make it the first 3 letters of all six (when I ended up with an extended brady bunch family and then had another one myself, but nothing made sense, so I stuck to Vankarhi which I have used as a business name and wanted it as a kennel name also.

The down is just starting to colour up on the oldest baby and it looks like it is going to be a yellow faced blue, same as dad, don't know about the others yet but they are all looking really good and getting fed.

I spent most of yesterday putting a new roof on the aviary and doing some repairs, I have just about finished fixing it up, all except the door that needs refitting then I am ready to start my budgie breeding program.

I have already started feeding them my special mix to help them breed now all i need is for this humidity to go away and ill be a lot happier.

I'm off tomorrow to get another couple of breeders they will go in with the other 7 breeding pair i have and then it will be all systems go and fingers crossed.

I'll post pictures when I get them in the aviary but at the moment I have eight, 5 hens and three cocks, they are all together in a holding cage inside at the moment all getting to know each other ;D, they will be transfered to the aviary tomorrow morning.
