In terms of is it expensive the answer is no, but different states charge different prices. Here is SA it is $7.95 a kilo & you just sprinkle a small amount on the seeds or maybe on some wet food. So a kilo of this stuff would last a long time. I get mine from my local grain & fodder store & it comes from Tasmania hence the difference in price in each state. I guy I know who breeds show canaries also told me about it & I have never seen such big & beautiful canaries before. His pairs of canaries that he has & that is heaps breeds up to 7 to 8 babies at a time & I have also noticed that my breeding tiels have been producing at least 5 or 6 eggs 7 all fertile where before they only had 4. So with so many people who have recommmended it to me, I thought I would give it a go. There are some excellent sites on the web about seaweed meal. Cheers for now Anna Olive

Cool I didn't see this post before, but yes they are much the same thing.I am the one that introduce anna to this great mineral.I have been using it for many years now.And see some great results on my birds.Bill is another on I told about this geme.It great for budgie breeder as well..It is a must if you have them...

has anyone used this lately? whad do i ask for in the feed shop?
do i use it all year round or just when they are breeding?
