Hi Bill. Is any one of the products better than any other? (ie is the powder to put in the water the better option, or one of the others?)

protexin is a terrific product but the drawback is that its quite expensive, I've been useing a human probiotic with my babies this year, its still expensive but not as much as protexin, I just open the capsual up and tip it over the food or in the formular, seems to do the same job.

Yep me too Kim. I have been using the one called Inner Health, lactose free but only if I am raising very young birds and it seems to do the trick, well I think it has. Have looked for the one Bill posted about but can't find it here. Cheers Anna

Gee I should have come to this post sooner . I was handraising Rani (alexandrine) and wanted to use pro biotics but could not find any. Some one gave me some free samples of Protexin, but I was too scared to use it. It is in my fridge, but I probably will not need to use it again.

Hi Anna, what's with the 'guest' signature- are you on holidays? I've noticed Frank and a few others are signed in as guests too. I use a probiotic called Nourishing Flora, as it has 8 different strains of bacteria, so it covers all bases. It's available in health food shops and probably pharmacy.
