Just on the off chance someone finds him and decides to try to find his owners on a bird forum.................... I have lost my little green man Takoda he flew off my shoulder this morning while hosing the yard. I know it is a long shot..........but hey you never know. Yes I have done the flyers and door knocking and put a flyer in the shop up the road and I am about to ring the vet here and the one in Tannum Sands too. I cannot believe this has happened .............I should have known better. I was even thinking I should take him upstairs and clip him again...........well that will teach me for procrastinating. If this was one of my kids that did this I would want to choke them until their eyeballs pop .................... but it is my fault...............I feel so bad for being so bloody stupid. So for anyone who might not know what he looks like...............he is in my signature on Cailleans shoulder................green with a big red beak and very tame.

A good clip around the wings for him Tracey , seriously I am always having a go at my missus for walking out into the yard with the birds on her shoulder, she reckons I'm a nag but I keep telling her "one day they will take off' get inside and clip the wings". We lost our big Sulpher Crested one day when he took off out of the back yard, we were lucky he decided to land in a yard about 6 houses away and we just walked in and picked him up. Clip wings and then clip them again you just can't be too sure, I'm glad he is home Tracey and yes my missus is right I am a nag. John

Oh I can talk now............people ringing me and boyfriends coming over to meet the parents (mother actually LOL) I gave him the drill too (the boyfriend that is). Takoda got a huge kiss and cuddle .......... it was all I could do not to cry. It looks like he tried to fly home but got a little lost. I could hear skye talking to something yesterday arvy...........but when I had a look I could not see anything. I can sleep well tonight

Thank Goodness he is home safe and sound!!! I know if I lost one of mine here I'd never get them back. There are far too many dogs and cats and not so honest people around here. I've already lost one quail to a dog because she escaped Thank goodness he's back

Amanda I was so worried that a crow or hawk or dog or cat had got him. I was actually looking in the trees and on the ground in case I found his little body. But it is all good now. The people that found him were hoping he was not mine. When I described his leg ring colour he said "no" at first, then I said it is a yellowish goldish colour and I know the number on it so can identify him and Takoda was raised by me and would recognise me as his mum...................I don't think he would have kept him.............I just think he was hoping. But anyway he is going to contact Pauline now and see if he can buy a bird from her he wants one just like Takoda. He reckons he is a lovely bird and very big for his age too.

Yes Lorilluver.............I know you do I have lost many birds before.........mostly 'tiels and never got any of them back. But my galah I got back each time. The longest she was missing was 7 days but she was a much older bird. I was so worried that Takoda had either met with foul play or someone would keep him as he is so young. But it is all good now They are all pigging out on their veges this morning in their cages.
