Well I got my first princess parrots on Saturday!!!!! They are sooooo beautiful! I really wanted some princesses (even though I'm not exactly short of birds) I will post some photos as soon as they have settled in. I have (alledgedly) bought 1 cock and two hens all approximately 15 months old. I must confess they do look almost indentical I'll have to get more educated on sexing them to be sure of this, although 1 is feeding another so 1 must have at least 1 of each. His head is definately more blue but I can't tell the wing feather thingy they are supposed to have. And I did manage to get to Beaudesert sale today, oh man was it hot out there!!!! It was in a big hall but there were so many people it was seriously like being in sideshow alley at the ekka! The poor birds all had wings up and panting. I turned up right on 10 when the ads said it opened but all the interesting birds were already marked sold, I'd say ( I may be cynical, forgive me) that all the vendors got to buy the birds they wanted before the rest of us got in. Never mind it was still a good look around, they had a fantastic variety, I love being able to see such a range a birds in the flesh. So to prove I do posess some self control I came home empty caged, but that's okay I spent the rest of the day enjoying my flock at home

Thats fantastic Jane, princesses are so gorgeous. You were a very restrained girl, although, if the good birds hadn't been already sold would you have come home empty caged?

Oh dear I'm busted aren't I? Yeah if they hadn't been sold and I didn't buy the princesses I'd have bought a pair of mulga parrots, a white fronted blue scarlet cock and there was this opaline red rump cock with the most amazing amount of red on his back, he was $250 though (with a plain opaline hen) so I wouldn't have afforded that. Oh and if space and money wern't as issue I'd also take a pair of Regents, some beautiful eastern rosellas, some mallee ringnecks, a suberb parrot............oops I might be getting carried away!
