well just got back from the breeders house and i got a dark violet budgie for my english olive guy. And............. A pair ready to breed they were feeding each other and inspecting boxes while i was there so they should go down soon. Will post pics soon. Oh The other female i got got bitten on the leg in the carry box.. She isn't puting pressure on it, so i put her in the breeding cage and she went straight in the nest box to have a rest and she couldn't perch that well, I then put the lone english male Budgie in there and she perked right up, she is now perching on the same perch as him and all but still no pressure on the leg.. If she isn't showing any improvement my tomorrow i think i'll take her to the vet. But overall they are beautiful

I wouldn't worry to much about her leg Phill as it may take a few days to repair itself. At best the vet will prob give her a couple of injections and you a bill for a few hundred (with tomorrow being a Sunday). Let her rest and give her a few days. Nice to see you couldn't help yourself LOL. So when is the next pair arriving???

The female looks to be a mauve spangle or mauve opaline spangle. The male looks like a yellowface type 2. Here's a great link with pics and explanations of budgie mutations. www.budgieplace.com/colorsguide.html
