This is Lee, my female Mallee Ringneck that I picked up early this morning *6.15am snore, sleepy time! LOL* she's this years bred. I have to wait until well after breeding season is over before I can introduce her to Mal - her new husbird because apparently he is his heightened state is likely to kill or severely damage her. This is Mal, I will introduce them around April/May through the bars of adjoining cages:

They are lovely Karen, great colours I didn't know they were so cranky though, I'm guessing they'll be a 1 pair per avairy bird? Glad you made it to confessional too with all your new fids, we thought you were too busy bird shopping to even confess...lol

hehe I will be here tomorrow too! Definately 1 pair per aviary. I had planned on introducing them straight away (breeder has superb rep) but he said no way! It might not happen but best not to risk it.

I don't know if I will breed them next year. The breeder said it is preferable to wait until they are 2yo. Mal is 2 but Lee is only a few months. Probably better - might be able to talk the father into letting me get some more suspended for the 2009 breeding season! and Jules? after today I only have 1 bird left on my need list. I phoned a breeder in Qld tonight but he only had a pair for sale. still waiting for my Western Hen. No more visits here until I get my Western - unless I give Max up and not try for a hen for him. That would be a shame coz he's gorgeous!

weelll, I did tell the breeder I got Lee from that I wanted a pair of Red Caps when he breeds them next year - $125 a bird as opposed to some I've seen that are double that.
