Ok i just realised that my last confession is still on this page still LOL but yes again about a green cheek conure..different one this time...The lady that raised Matches has a very tame baby green cheek conure for sale...he (yes he, has been DNA sexed) broke his leg when he was in with his brothers and sisters and they guy that was going to buy him changed his mind after he heard that...well the lady (her name is margaret so ill just write that) felt sorry for it when he broke his leg and put most of her attention on it cos of its injury and now is very very tame. The leg has completely healed now but has no home..I did see it alot of times seeing Matches and he was so cute.
I don't think Matches is ready for a male alex and to be honest i don't think i am but a green cheek is a bit different..Matches is pretty trained and is a great bird, so much easier than expected and this green cheek is already tame too. She has done a great job with Matches and spending more time with the green cheek might be even better so i do trust her and have seen the birds outcomes too and they pretty much all end up great.
I have pretty much said from the start that after an alex is a green cheek or something from that family and this one seems so good! Just the father will probably need some convincing...might need to pull out the dog threat again!...
What do you think?

Can you house them separately for while until they are used to each other?? I assume you wanted them to be housed together.
Yes pull out the dog again..........or maybe bribery might work if you say you will wash his car for a few months lol

Lol no i wont be housing them together and dont really intend to...just while they're out they can tolerate each other.
Wash his car LOL yeah with air haha stupid water restrictions. Ill just say he wont even notice it's there...once Matches starts making a bit more noise im sure a green cheek isnt gonna be too loud LOL..im not getting a sun or anything.

YES YES YES! If I were you Courtney, I would definately get the Green cheek. Like you said, you were intending to get one as a second bird, so take this as destiny. ;D ;D Oh and don't worry about dad, just flutter the eyes at him and give him the "I'm a daddys' girl" look And if that fails...bring on the water works lol ;D ;D Good luck Tasha

I'll just buy it and see if he notices HAHA...i was thinking about going down this weekend to check it out..hmm....I can probably maybe do it cos my brother doesnt have a job so my dad pays for his petrol and gym and all that so its not like he will be paying for it....then i won't get another bird for a while..well he wants to do up the aviary for matches...matches will be lonely in the big aviary so she needs a friend

If you can swing it with your Dad, than go for it. Green cheeks are great little birds - very cheeky and full of attitude, they're a lot of fun to have around. Trouble doesn't really like my family (they don't spend enough time with him, as I keep telling them) but he'll still show off and start chattering whenever someone walks past a cage. Jedi liked nothing better than sitting on my shoulder and preening herself, my face or my clothes. She also enjoyed butting into the conversation when I was on the phone.

I am really considering just buying it and not telling him LOL... I liked the conures but werent a fan of sun's too much..the noise turned me off them completely, then i saw the green cheeks and fell for them, they are just so cute, and personally i like them looks wise better than other conures (well...patties and goldens are cool and others in the Pyrrhura family). Hmm..now just the father...thats the only problem....

Is the bird expensive? If I really wanted to buy a bird I'd bribe the old man with a bottle of his favourit spirits.

Hmm...think i stuffed it....i asked him and he said no...so i am blackmailing the brother to ask him a few times LOL...i should have just bought it and not told him.
I am thinking of just getting it and when he says "i told you no" i'll say "this isnt the one i was asking about before, i wanted the big ekkie before and she was giving this one away and cos it's small and quiet i didnt think you would mind" LOL!! I never told him what other bird i wanted, i think he might have been thinking a bigger bird than matches.
