Ok ya twisted my arm. ;D I bought a 2 yo male blue princess parrot ;D WOO HOO I finally have one ;D He was hand reared but hasn't been handled much over the last couple of months as the family member who deals mostly with the birds has been working away. He doesn't have a name yet so I've been racking my brains trying to think of one. He only cos me $70 which is pretty good. She also had an aviary bred green male prinny for $35 but I didn't have enough cash. She said if I want him just let her know and she'll keep him til I get back there. We'll see on that one but for now I'm gonna enjoy my lovely new blue boy ;D |

Oh you got a "BLUE" one. ;D I love blue. I might have to paint Takoda blue so I can have a blue bird. lol

Hahaha I'm leaning towards Storm as it was stormy when I went to get him and well I just love storms and he's the right colour ;D
I'm wondering if he isn't a she though. There is barely any blue suffusion on the head and the rump is solid grey. Can't quite tell with the irises but they're looking more brown than orange. I'll post pics up in the photo board.

You should be able to tell with the length of the tail. My boy's tail is about an inch longer than the hens - and he's a darn sight louder too! Congrats on finally getting your blue boy.  |

I love the blues, I've a little girl blue. The boys are definitely louder than the girls. Go figure...... With the greens they have a darker blue patch on their rump above the tail. I'll have to have a look at the girl. The funny thing is she has paired up with my Blue Redrump. They are inseparable, might be interesting next breeding season as all my other red rumps have paired up.

He's supposedly about 2yo. I didn't notice any spatule on his primary when he stretched his wings out and the rump is definitely grey. I've put pics, though not very good ones, in the photos board.

I'll have to have a close look at mine. When I took Jack to the vet last year he said he was too young to breed as he didn't have the things on the wings (cant remember what he called them). I think he said they get them around 2 years old. Maybe have to google.
