Ok everyone, you can all stop counting now. The big day has arrived. There are................. .............................................. ................................................ 2 babies in the nest this morning!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D YAY YAY. lol I checked yesterday and thought the eggs may have been no good. BUT when I popped out there this morning and decided to take one more peek, there were fluffy butts in there! ;D ;D She is such a good mum hatching both eggs on these freezing cold days. And we had a icy hailstorm yesterday, maybe that made the bubs come out to see what all the noise was about. lol ;D SO exciting!!! ok...deep breath Tash....breath in.....breath out....ahhhh...... ;D

You are over the danger zone now. The first week is the most nerve racking, first to see if they hatch, then if they are being kept warm and being fed. Congrats Tasha and share the pics ;D ;D I want baby lorikeets now.

Hmmmm...let me see..... Yes, you need to be able to spoil them rotten, give them whatever they want, make sure they have lots of cuddles and things to play with. Basically keep them in the lifestyle they are accustomed to. Here are a few pics I took this morning....... Question.....why is one bald like Kojack? Is that normal? It had a fluffy head when hatched. Is it because pin feathers are coming through or do you think mum/dad might be doing it? Whats happening to my little baby???!!!!!!

mmm a big difference isn't there in feathering on the head. I would be keeping a close eye on them. If they look like they are being "damaged" take them out immediately. I can't see blood or sores ......... but keep a close eye on them.

yeah I gave him a good check over and there is absolutely no damage to him whatsoever...just missing fluffy feathering.

Yeah all is good with the babies. I found out that the Kojack look is quite normal....so panic time is over....for now lol Mum is doing a great job feeding them. I checked on them yesterday and their little crops were sooooo full. lol Will check again tomorrow as today was another freezing day and I didn't want to disturb the parents while they were keeping bubs warm. Will take a few more update pics to. Yesterday when I looked, their little eyes were almost begining to open so they probably had their first taste of sight today
