Hi everyone!
I've just joined and wanted to introduce myself and Elmo.
Elmo is my flock - he's an (as yet unsexed) Jenday Conure - bred & hand reared by the wonderful people at FeatheredFriends.
He's 18 months old - and the love of my life. His favourite time of the day is showering with me and favourite foods are cherries & almonds.
He can turn around, wave & take/give back toys as well as drop them into a bucket.
He comes out and about with me - as soon as we pull into the car park of our local shopping center he starts bobbing with excitement!
Having the one companion bird means i'm more after that sort of information than from a breeding/aviary perspective - but someone recommended this site so i'm hoping to make some new friends and am always open to learning more about enriching the life of my companion bird.
Purdey (& Elmo!)

Thanks pinkdevil!
I'd love to put some photos of Elmo up - but you might have to help me out with the 'adding photos' deal - can an Avatar only be a website link not a photo from your computer?
i might have to call it a night - Elmo is snuggled down my jumper making those cute 'beak-grindy' noises which always puts me to sleep!

If you have a photo host like Photobucket or imageshack, you can upload your pics there, then copy the "IMG" or "URL" code for forums and paste in here. Your photos should work. I am not sure about the avatar direct from puter. Might have to uploaad it to.

My avatars in the past have been straight from my pc, but I had to resize it to approx 100 X 100 or similar.
Oh and welcome Purdy, Elmo sounds lovely.

I think, we would have to be added as a friend to be able to see the pic?

Oh wow your little girl is gorgous I hope your not to dissapointed that Elmo is a girl. I just love Conures they are the best little companions I ever had the privlege of owning. I have 2 one male and one female. my female is 11 yrs old and is a Fiery sholdered conure and my male is a Green cheeked Conure he's almost 2 yrs old I not a breeder so they are just my pets and they are the best. My Green cheeked conure loves to play when he has a audiance he would make them laugh all day long. Welcome to the forum I hope to hear more about your little girl. your link works fine.

hehehehe i think thats the way with alot of birds ... my sun conure was a he for ages .... until i decided to dna sex .. and turned to be a girl ... :/ i'd have to say i was a tad disappointed ... mostly because its hard to go from he to she .. and the whole egg laying thing ... so now with my cin gcc .. i call it a she .. and it will most probably be a he :/ darn sexing thinggyy why cant they just come out different colours or different shades for sex Congrats on Elmo being a girlllll *Lisa*
