Mick bought the magazine whilst we were away. The picture of the pied diamond on the front caught his eye. Diamonds are his favourite!

Yea, I agree I saw a pair of them at the Beaudesert bird sale $200 they were very pretty but way out of my league. I would always have them as I reckon they have a very calming voice

I have the JUST FINCHES & SOFTBILLS delivered to my door all the over to the UK. It's a great read and my mate STEVE NESBITT has a splendid article about his Java Sparrows in this issue.

Pity that the Java Sparrow is not as popular in Australia at it is in England,Norwichfinchman.Still some people must be buying them, which is good to see.Pet City, which is near where I live, always has them. They might be the biggest finch in the world.Breeders who like breeding mutations, ought to find them a temptation,as they are now available,in many mutations. They are a very outgoing bird. The first link in the finch links, reveals how it is possible to keep them as a companion bird. Here is a picture of your mate Steve www.javafinch.co.uk/steve/steve.htmlhere is his site www.justjavas.co.uk/from Robert and Precious

Hi Rob & Precious, Java's are great birds and very popular in the UK. I keep Normals, White's, Silver's, Fawn's and I also have a Opel Isabel. Yesterday morning I found five Java chicks in one nest box all newly born and Normal mutation. It really was a good friday for me. I have an article in this months JSSUK newsletter which should be out next week. It was Steve Nesbitt who talked me into writing this.
