When I grow up...............................I wanna be just like my dad, a beautiful blue faced parrot finch. ;D  Mick is over the moon, our little blue-faces have three babies and they all came out of the nest yesterday. They are so cute, and they just love to sit all over you. And of course, Mick couldn't resist, he had to get in and have a play.  |

I love the little blue faces, Mick loves the red faces.
All three are still going strong, we had a little scare with one yesterday, he/she was in the water dish - lucky we found him/her in time. After a quick blowdry and a warm up, the little bugger stopped shivering and had a bite to eat and we put him back in the aviary with his siblings. It was so cute, they were to happy to see each other.

Blue faces are from Australia, red faces from i think New Caledonia.

Our red faced parrot finches bred for us and we were a little surprised to see that one of their babies came out as a sea-green. Two of the three were red and then the ring in.  We rang the guy we got them off and he said that they were normal red-faced parrot finches split to sea-green. Now he tells us. Not that we were worried. It was a nice surprise! |

Nice!!! They're a bit harder to come by too than the red faced. The guy who breeds the parrot finches for work has some really beautiful ones..bit too expensive for us but i love it when he brings them in to show us.
