Ok not exactly the egg is pink but if it will hatch something I'm going to have pink Bourkies. Doesn't it marvellous. Now all family pictures: DadMom:First egg (because I hope there will be more than one:Also talk that mother since today its sleeping inside nest and also talk that I'm going to try not disturb new family until babies have hatched.

Well done, not sure with bourke's.. thou adding some bedding like saw dust will help the parents brood,good luck with them

If that's the case then leave them as they are it happens with parrots kicking out sawdust/bedding... l was wondering with yours for the egg is on the side of the nestbox and the parents are beautiful may l add

Thanks Greg, I have a question: why they haven't laeyd an othar egg? at least they may lay an othar and nothig, more than this females doesn't want to get in nestbox. Why? not even I don't disturb them almost not even I look at them.I don't understand

no syill no more eggs. More, there's no egg I think mom broke it because she knew there wasn't going to hacht any, but I today female is an other time inside nest (here now is night.)

Yes this can happen and egg laying can spread over 2 days so best thing you can do is like you are doing..Nature will take it's course

I have news. Again pink hen has an egg (probably two today) I hope this time she warms eggs until they hacht Also talk you that my other female has 4 eggs and she is lying so I hpe at least we are going to have ancestral bourkies.

Anybody know if you can mix bourkes with zebra finches, oh and good luck with the eggs and bourkes parrots luisa, hope they go well!

Hi and welcome to the forum Finchperson
Bourkes would get along with zebra finches fine. All neophemas can be kept with finches as they are very placid and not an aggressive bird, i have had success with keeping turks,bourkes,elegants and scarlets with gouldians and tri coloured nuns in a planted aviary a few years ago and all got on fine.
