Ok so I bought a cage yesterday that I thought was going to work but looking up Green Cheek breeding diet and now I am having second thoughts. Most sites say that the GC's need 4ft cube cage anything smaller and they will not breed and the hens get fat and egg bound. Anything larger and they will not breed as they don't feel safe (so I wonder how the breed in the wild?) Anyway my cage will be domed at one end (I am turning it on it's side) So hight - 2.5 ft; Width 5.4 ft; Depth 1.9ft Here is the picture of it I am planning on building s stand for it so that it ends up being sort of like a suspended avairy. Is this going to be to small or big? If so I guess that I can put some Budgies in it or something so it does not go to complete waste. Any suggestions or ideas? Towards the end of this year my plan is to only have about 5 or 6 Budgies and let the Green Cheeks have this Anyone ever coloney breed GC? If so does it work or should I keep them split up?

The cage you bought will be fine for the green cheeks. I have seen them breed in much smaller.

Thanks, Dad and I are in the process of making it a suspended avairy on it's side, hopefully the new birds will be happy in it. Also looking at getting a second one for the other birds.
