With the recent heatwave of 45 degrees we reached and two days of 43 and 44, l find these spiders are out and about in which l found this Huntsman on my toilet door frame. Here's a photo taken in the past of the underbelly of a female Huntsman on my window.

We get huntsmen all the time here.......I do not like spiders but them and daddy long legs are the only type I will "tolerate" in my house as they do eat bugs (well daddy long legs kill red backs apparently and their mouth is too small to inflict a bite on humans ..... from what I read)

eww I hate spiders lol. I had a huge huntsman on my shoulder when walking out frm my aviaries and it was scary....I flung it off VERY quickly and my pet chook just stood there when i was waiting for him to eat it lol...I think my peacock ate it anyway..well i hope anyway lol.

Daddy long legs I've heard are supposed to be one of the most venomous spider on earth. Lucky for humans their fangs are way too small to be able to bite us. I'll not be forgetting the huge spider in our lounge room the day we put the bombs through the house. Neighbour said it would have been a tarantula . . . nothing pretty about them!

Yeah Karen. Daddy long legs are among the most venemous spiders in the world, but they cant inflict a bite on a human or any large animal as their fangs are not strong enough. And yes they do eat Redbacks but here in S/E Melbourne they do attract the dreaded white tail spider.
Also not all huntsmans are huntmen. There is another spider that looks almost identical to a huntsman that is called a Wolf spider. They differ because they have dark coloured rings on their legs, and can grow to a much larger size. But other than that they are identical. I'm not sure of their habitat range but Wolf spiders live along side Huntsmen in S/E melbourne especially where they are plenty of gum trees.
Hope this has cleared up some of your questions

Oh Crikey! lol I'm not a fan of spiders - at all! But if they are out in the garden, that's cool. We don't get a lit of huntsmans thankfully. We do get golden orb spiders everywhere in the garden tho. Their webs are truly beautiful!
