I am not sure but I think the dracaena plant and family is toxic to animals including humans. If it what I think it is it can cause swelling of the mouth if babies chew on it.

I see golden cane palms are safe for birds, what about the other palms? are alexandra and bangalow palms safe for parrots? They are native palms? And I know that the berries from cocos palms are good for birds but what about the fronds and stalks? they can grow quite big, but i plan to have them in pots so that will stunt their growth plus i have a fairly high aviary at 2.6m.

Palms are fine, however I thought Dracaena's were not safe but the list in the link say's different.. If you want plants for your aviary , seeding grasses, natives such as bottle brush, lilly pilly, gum trees, weeping T Trees. If in doubt leave it out. Anyway maybe this link will help. www.ladygouldianfinch.com/features_aviaryplants.mgi
