I love the sounds the young make when begging for a feed. Then you would love living here. I have to say I love it too, I run around here at the dam taking photos like a mad tourist! Great photos again Greg, always a pleasure to log on and see your name, I always know I'm in for a treat. ;D

I reckon they sound like machine guns when they are begging for food ;D We have a flock of around 50 or more birds in it and they roost quite often in one of our gum trees.

They are awesome in flight hey ;D They quite often come in on our easement out the back and play and flap around. I am not too keen on encourageing them to come into my yard though as they have a very high rate of PBFD as do the sulfers too. Well according to the vet I take my birds to. Lately we have seen quite a few dead galahs........not attacked by animals either.......just dead. We have had a couple out the back on the easement and I thought maybe the high voltage power lines??? But Stephen said he has seen dead ones on the side of the road and on footpaths and he reckons they have not been hit by cars either and I saw one the other day .... dead in a driveway just down the road from us........they just look like they have just "dropped and died"

We get babies brought to our place by their folks once they fledge, so they can join in the afternoon seed extraviganser. They are usually still cadging feeds from their folks, so we get the baby noise..very load in many voices. We sometimes get cheesed off with all the din and go outside and shout "For god sake go feed those babies!"
