I am so very excited about it! My gorgeous male & gorgeous female finally have a chick! I have perservered with these 2 for about 2 years and they didn't breed. Couple months ago they laid a couple eggs but left them. Yesterday when putting fresh food for them I picked up the box, saw through the hole the hen scoot to the side of the box and look up at me so I opened the top and lo and behold there is a little fluffy butt there! 3 more eggs to go - don't know if they are fertile or not but finally a bub! I've no idea what the bub will look like - at the moment I can't show any pictures as I still don't have my home pc and I cannot access photobucket at work. I think the male is Lime and the hen is an opaline of some sort. My birds just love to breed at the wrong end of the season.

:DThat is great news. Good to hear that you perservered with them. Doesn't always work for humans the first time around! Birds are sometimes the same. I'm sure they will be great parronts and you will be a great grandparront! Now........ no spoiling them just yet

Too late! I've been hunting around the yard for the wild seed grasses, gave them a branch off their favourite plant to munch on and for good measure snapped off a piece of the aloe vera for them. Can't give them much aloe vera anymore since my rosella's ate most of it, should have kept them - they were super strong and healthy! I've got some millet sprays at home, I'll give them some - hopefully the other red rump pair and the rosella pair will leave some for them.

Checked the box yesterday and saw 4 fluffy butts in there! I am very happy about that, I have finally found where these 2 are happy to breed and I get 100% fertility. Here are the fluffy butts: Here are the parents, dad on the left (any idea what bubs will be?):

They are at the squawking stage when you pick the nest box up. Mum couldn't be bothered moving for the pics. The eldest also pee'd on me when I picked it up!

Look good now you say ....................they look excellent. Their colour is really starting to show, and what beautiful colours they are. I just adore the way Joey is looking in, I love how rosellas always push their beak on the side of the nest boxes.

Chick 2 had fledged when I went up today. She also had the bloodied face of a fledged Red Rump When I opened the nest box to check on the others Chick 1 jumped out of the box and started flying around (and crashing LOL). Chick 1: Chick 1 with some of the other residents: Chick 2: Chick 3: Chick 4 looks like he's going to be a cheeky boy! His colouring is a normal red rump which is confusing:
