Hi I am still looking to rehome my short bill corella. I am hoping to see if anybody here on the forum knows of somebody who is looking for a companion bird.
I'm in Melbourne by the way. And my corella is tame, dances and talks. About 3 yrs old. Thanks.
Cheers, Crakatow

Hey Craktow I run a bird shelter, how much are you wanting for the guy and also does he require a license? I have a few people who are wanting galahs and I might be able to ask them if they would mind a corella instead.

Hi Angelivampyre,
I 'm not wanting anything from rehoming my corella. In fact, I'm willing to give my existing bird cage and bird stand to the new owner if they want it. I just want to make sure that he is in a good home and that the new owner really want a companion bird. I've got some interested parties but none really panned out. One told me that he lost his bird and wanting a new one but then i did a search on his name, found out that he actually sold one of the same just 3 weeks ago. Got a sneaky feeling that some ppl might just want to get it from me for free and sell it later. I really will only give it to a good home, otherwise he is better off with me. But he needs so much more time than i can give him. He belongs to my husband who is working extensively overseas and I have barely much time to spare with studies and 3 young kids. He is a very much loved pet. He is tame, was bought handraised and loves scratches. He talks and dances and is very responsive and a quick learner. It is a sad decision to rehome him but if he can have a better life with someone, then i will let him go.
With him, his nails have to be trimmed back regularly otherwise it gets too long too quickly and sometimes he might "groom" you a little too much because he is so eager. A little nippy occasionally in other words.
Let me know if u want to know anything more.
And yes, he isn't sexed, and we are only guessin it is a he. I dun think he takes to other birds. He will bully them if given a chance.
Regards, Crakatow

oh i forgot to add that he does not require a license as he is a short billed corella. Only long billed corellas require a license.

Hi there Crakatow, Saw this in the topics and thought I'd post as I have two spare aviaries at the moment and I adore my large parrots, have two corellas, three galahs, IRNs plus budgies and one tiel and a lori. I'm in Melbourne and would be happy for you to visit and see if I would be acceptable to your little fella. While my large birds do live in aviaries and not the house I spend a large proportion of my time with them in the aviaries so they are not without companionship and pending quarantine, etc I would probably try and source him a feathered companion too. Anyway, let me know if your other options don't work out and you are interested
