:DWell I guess I am the lucky one then, because I do have another female, and a male - both of which are quiet.

I soooo love the 'lovers' photo. It is great to see such birds getting along all cosy. All great pics and birds.

Hi, Your birds are beautiful. Could you tell me if your Eclectus does alot of screaming? I had a Galah afew years ago and i don't remember him screaming. unfortunately we lost him and I don't feel like replacing him with another galah, I think it will remind me of him too much. I have been considering an Ekkie or Alexandrine, I have done lots of online research but info from owners would be more helpful I think. so anything you could tell me about them would be fantastic. Again your birds are gorgeous.

Thanks for the compliment, i'll be sure to let the birds know! I woudn't say an Eclectus is a 'quiet' bird. She doesn't scream constantly but when she does it is loud and grating. God forbid I am late with her breakfast because she lets me know!
Most birds are quiet when they're busy so if you have plenty of foraging opportunities and things to destroy then they're fine but still be prepared for a little noise at dawn and dusk. it's completely normal.
Ekkies require a diet of mostly fresh foods so that's another thing to consider as well. I make it easy by preparing in bulk and freezing leftovers so it's not too hard but it can be difficult for some people.
