I have a sad update- this afternoon I went out to check on them and the Blue budgie wasn't there!! I could see no way how it could have got out, all the cage doors were closed and locked and it defiantely couldn't have squezed through the bars.
Maybe it was stolen? Oh and the yellow one is fine and in good shape.
Oh and to answer your question vankarhi yes there was only 2 chicks.

oh no that is terrible.......but why would they only steal one baby?? Were there any feathers scattered around?? Maybe a snake......although a snake probably couldn't get back through the wire if it did eat the baby, maybe a bird of prey???

There were a few feathers scattered around here and there but not enough to confirm that it was stolen. We have quite a few Butcherbirds around that try to eat my Zebra Finches. Maybe it was them. Anyway the good news is that the Dominant Pied (the yellow one) is doing great!
