hey all im from brisbane just purchased a new indian ringneck i have owned a ringneck before but he was avairy bred and and was a few months old i got him to do a few things but was always bitey ...
that was about a year ago i have bought a new one its a sky blue indian ringneck .. he is also hand raised
i was also wondering where is a good/cheapish place to get a bird dna sexed ?

Hi Sara and welcome to Aussie Birds. There is a couple of places you can get your bird DNA sexed, you can try MDS Australia, or you can try DNA Solutions.

It only costs around $16 for a dna test and they are not hard to do either.

You get the dna test kit online from mds (you pay for the kit from mds) or dns solutions (they are apparently free) ........ or I could send you one (I keep trying to give a kit away but no one will take it from me lol ;D )
then you prick the toe just above the nail and squeeze a bit of blood out (sometimes I have pricked the toe more than once.......and with Rikki the alex I am raising now I had to swap to his other foot to get the blood out). It only needs to be a tiny drop and then it goes onto a special swap and into the tube (everything is supplied) then posted away and the results are usually back within 2 weeks.

Oh and you send payment with the test kit sample when you have done the dna on the bird.
