My neighbours pet Cockatiel has escaped from his cage and is hanging around my place. I have been trying to catch him with a cage with seed in it but am not having any luck. He looks hungry but unfortunately I'm not home during the day to see if he is getting into the cage. Hopefully with the weekend coming up I will be able to keep an eye out. Any other suggestions?

Have a hose ready to hose him solid.....so he is so heavy he can't fly.

I did that once when I was trying to catch a bird and it took exception and I never saw it again. Lol.

Have you caught it yet? Is it a hand tamed bird? If so, while moving very cautiosly you may be able to walk up to it and use a net. But watch the bird very carefully for it's reaction to your movements.

I've caught it, I put a cage with seed in it on top of my aviary and within 5 minutes he was in there eating away, then I just walked up and pulled the door down. Easy as. He didn't stay still long enough for me to catch him with my net.
