Hello all, I'm new to the forums and having helped me with a few Lori queries I decided to join up. I am 28, live in queensland, and I only own the one bird for now.... Lol 'Jester' is a young rainbow lorikeet that I purchased hand reared from a store, I'm usually more inclined to buy a bird from breeders, however after watching and playing with 'her' I just couldn't resist lol The fast learner has learnt to wolf whistle, say hello, and she has now just started to present her wings when I ask. I have owned birds previously, finches, cockatiels, and budgies, but I have never seen this side of a parrot before and it is quite amazing. Anyway that's enough from me, and please excuse any spelling or bad punctuation as I'm typing on an iPhone

Hello and welcome! Be warned - this is an addiction! I currently have a galah, 2 tiels, 4 budgies, a blue quaker and a canary....not to mention 2 dogs, a yabby, 3 tadpoles and 6 other tanks with assorted fish. lol Trying to figure out if I can sneak another bird past hubby.....would love another 'too, but don't think he'll let me get away with it. LOL Pretty much everyone here has multiple bird syndrome. Carls

Thank you for the welcomes, I currently live in toowoomba and yeah we have been getting soaked. Although the last two days have been quite sunny, a welcome change. I can see how this can be an addiction, these intelligent creatures just love to be around you and are natural show offs . I have already been looking at other birds, and I think the sun conures look amazing and the videos I have seen shows they are incredibly smart. However for the moment I am quite happy with my rainbow

Hi auswolf. I have a lori that also wolf whistles and 'dances' on command. Funny little balls of feathers are the rainbows.

Yes, I am rapidly falling in love with my little jester. She has an unbelievable personality. I recently bought her a ball with a bell in it. Haha it's now her favorite toy, she chases it all over my loungroom, kicking and headbutting it lol

Hey Auswolf - Welcome. How are you guys handling the floods? Hope all is ok. I live in Southern NSW, so we are just getting the rain and humidity - nothing like poor QLD. My thoughts are with everyone who is being affected by these horrible floods - it's devastating.... Just on a brighter note - I also have 2 rainbows and wow, do they keep me entertained! Percy is my oldest and such a card. He says "I love you Flossy" and blows me kisses....tells me to get lost...in not so nice words!! especially when I pat Nelson - his house mate. Percy sleeps with the lid off an aerosol can on his head every night. It HAS to be a red one though. If you go out at night and say..."Percy, have you got that lid on your hear again....". He throws it off and runs over to the door and says...."NNnnnnaaaahhhhh.......I donnnnn't!" and again, says a few expletives that I can't write on here.......lol. I have a sign on their cage, "The Gay Lorries" lol.....and I often ask Percy if he is gay! He chuckles and says...."what do uuuuuuuuuuu reckon!".....lol. Very entertaining......love my lorries!
