Information on Green cheek conures, please

Hi everyone,

I am an Animal Science student and have an assignment on aviculture due soon. As I own a GCC, I chose to focus the assignment on them. I have a few questions I'm wondering if anyone can help me with.


- What are people's opinions on hand raising? Should they be hand raised from day 1? Let the parents do the raising? Or a bit of both?


- When are they usually weaned?


- When is the breeding season (in Australia)? I've read a few things that say different things.

I pull my chicks at 10 days old when I ring them, wean after approx 6 to 7 weeks and where I live in Alice springs breeding starts around July to november, hope this was some help to you
