Well, I've been wanting to make a bird stand/play gym for Anath and Jedi for a while now, so that they can enjoy being out of the cage without necessarily being *on* me with Jedi since she's often distracting to the point where I can't get anything done when she's with me (but then, aren't all our birds? ). Unfortunately they tend to gravitate towards the window and I'm not sure on the kind of paint that was used, so I don't let them on top of their cages. I found this gorgeous stand on ebay and have such wonderful ideas for it, but alas I have no idea where the place is and wouldn't be able to pick it up. XD I'm rather clueless when it comes to building things, but if I have detailed enough instructions I should be able to give it a fair go, so what kind of stands have you seen that have been built, or made yourself?

that is a great stand ............. there is a silverdale in the estate opposite me but I am sure that "Silverdate" is a town and I have no idea where it is either. I would be guessing the Gold Coast area. You could message the seller and ask them. I do that if I am interested in buying something of ebay. I message the seller with my questions........ Good luck this is a playstand (as I call it) I made for my birdies a while ago now. This was taken this morning and has Shrekie and Takoda on it. this was taken not long after I built it. I think it has Shrekie and Rani on it. Clara has just made a playstand for her african grey and she posted it the other day too. It is a great stand and very easy to make and you could make it smaller or with more toys etc for your birds. With the one I made, it obviously is pretty big, but for smaller birds you could use a much smaller terracotta pot and a bag of pretty rocks from a nursery (or cheaper still possibly sand in a much smaller one) and cut down some natural unsprayed non poisonous branches from your yard or someone elses and then hang some toys suitable for your birds. I have a boing now hanging from the roof and it is positioned above the playstand so the birds get to climb all over the place now. I also bought a natural wood ladder and put it in the playstand and some other toys too and I attached some feed containers too.

I like your play stand Tracey i find it is more beautifull wood than pvc, i would like later to build one like this to stay it on the same place because i suppose it is eavy lol ( i would like a big tree too but that it is impossible ;D. The good thing whith pvc it is that we can put it every where and easy to clean Amicalement.

With this playstand, I have to take most of the rocks out and then I can wheel it out onto the verandah and hose it clean. It is a bit of a drama, but it can be done.

I like that one Tracey - I've picked up a pot so over the next few weeks I'll be collecting branches and stuff for it. :3

For smaller birds you don't need such a big pot and obviously the branches don't need to be so big either and less rocks etc etc.
