Got myself a new Regent (Western) Parrot today. He's a fine looking bird - and big too - so we've named him "Big Boy". Look out for his adventures to come! Wish I had a digi so I can show you a photo - ah well, use your imaginations! ha ha ha ...

Ha Ha Frank! You could always keep both! I do, and the Superbs are fine when mixed with the tiels. You may need to invest in some bigger/more aviaries but A couple of the young hens in the cage I picked the male Regent from had yellow spots on the back of the head - split pieds? Anyone know?

Hi Claire, I have seen the Yellow spots too, in a male here the other day, at my local dealer, they almost allways dissapear in the first moult. I wouldn't imagine a breeder selling birds too quickly if there was any doubt about them. Regents are magnificent birds,( I almost bought some at the dealers, but couldn't be sure of a pair,as they were young birds)and they become very tame even in an aviary. All the best with him,...Tony

Cheers Tony. Same reason I didn't get a pair. Although they were from different parents, he couldn't be sure who came from what pair, so I just took the nicest looking male and I'll get a hen a bit later. Claire
